Get a Brighter Smile with Today's Tooth Whitening Products
There are as many tooth whitening products on store shelves these days as, well, toothpaste! No longer reserved for the rich and famous, beautiful white teeth are something everyone can obtain thanks to the wide variety of whitening systems on the market today. One way to get blindingly white teeth is to head to your dentist. With treatments such as Zoom whitening, you can have movie star white teeth in less than an hour. However, not everyone can afford the extravagant cost. If you want to whiten your teeth without breaking the bank, the solution is as close as your local drugstore.
Whitening Pens: Whitening pens are a handy way to brighten your smile in a hurry. These products look similar to ink pens or markers. To use them, you simply twist to release the whitening gel and gently brush on teeth. Allow the gel to dry, and wait 20 to 30 minutes before eating or drinking. One of the top choices out there is the BriteSmile whitening pen, which offers optimum results when applied twice a day for two weeks. Another popular choice is the Rembrandt whitening pen by Oral B.
Whitening Strips: Crest is the leader when it comes to whitening strips, with their popular Whitestrips line. These thin, clear strips are applied to teeth for 30 minutes twice daily. The original Whitestrips take two weeks to show maximum results, while some of the newer varieties like Premium and Renewal take about half that long to work.
Whitening Gels: There are lots of different whitening gels offered by many different manufacturers. Some use a mouth tray, while others are painted on with a brush much like whitening pens are. GoSmile is a popular whitening gel which comes in convenient one-use ampoules. Another effective yet much more affordable gel is Simply White by Colgate. Some gels need to be rinsed off, others do not.
UV Whitening Systems: One of the newest ways to whiten teeth outside the dentists' office is with a product like Twilight Teeth, which uses the UV light of a tanning bed to activate a peroxide whitening gel. If you don't want to get in a tanning bed but want UV whitening, try something like the WhiteLight tooth whitening system which comes with its own miniature UV light.
Whitening Toothpastes: To keep your pearly whites looking their whitest, use a good whitening toothpaste two to three times daily. You'll find many different kinds in the toothpaste aisle, including choices from Crest, Colgate, Rembrandt and more.
With such a wide variety of tooth whitening products on the shelves, it is often difficult to determine which is the best. It can help to ask friends and family for recommendations, or check an online consumer review site. Once you use your whitening product, try to avoid things that stain teeth such as red wine and coffee. Some products recommend periodic maintenance to keep teeth their whitest, so be sure to read all enclosed instructions before using.
