Is Laser Tooth Whitening Right For You?
If you are amoung the people these days who desire brighter, whiter teeth, then you probably already know there are many different options on the market these days to assist you. One of the fastest ways to a whiter smile is with laser tooth whitening. But is it right for you? Read on to learn more about laser whitening as well as some other options to consider.
Laser whitening must be performed at your dentist's office and can be quite costly. One of the most popular methods of laser whitening is called LaserSmile. LaserSmile uses a gel which bleaches your teeth with hydrogen peroxide. What makes this treatment so effective is the combination of the gel and the laser which is used to activate and accelerate the whitening action. With this type of treatment, each tooth is only exposed to the laser for very short periods of time. The entire procedure takes only around 30 minutes and results in dramatically whiter teeth.
There are some other dental treatments that do not use a laser, but do use a special whitening light in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide gel. One such treatment is the popular Zoom whitening treatment. Zoom uses a special light that works in much the same way as a laser treatment. The light accelerates the whitening gel and offers dramatic results, bleaching teeth up to eight shades whiter in only around 45 minutes. Yet another dentist applied treatment that uses a special light and whitening gel is the Rembrandt Sapphire treatment. One of these whitening treatments takes around 90 minutes from start to finish, a bit longer than the others mentioned here but just as effective. Speak to your dentist about the different treatments that he or she offers and the details involved with each one before making a choice.
Laser tooth whitening can be rather expensive, which is why some people decide to take whitening into their own hands. If you'd like to try whitening your teeth on your own before turning to an expensive laser or light treatment, there are certainly many products from which you can choose. Many people have found success with the very popular whitening strips on the market, while others prefer whitening gel used with a mouth tray. If you do decide to forgo dental whitening and use a drugstore product, follow all instructions and discontinue use if side effects occur.
